Humanitarian convoys for Ukraine!

The unprecedented humanitarian disaster faced by the Ukrainians is taking a dramatic turn, with millions of people thrown on the roads. ACTED is fully mobilised in Ukraine to support them and needs your help!

Paris, March 3rd, 2022 – In the face of the conflict in Ukraine, our priority has been to provide financial assistance to those directly affected in conflict hotspots, as we have been doing for the past 7 years thanks to the commitment of our 150 staff and partners on the ground. Many separated families had to leave their homes in a hurry. Hundreds of thousands had to flee towards Central European countries. ACTED is now offering hot meals to people who sometimes wait 48 hours at the border in freezing temperatures and snow. Finally, we also participate in the general mobilization effort to support refugees in Poland, Romania and Moldova.

The crisis is taking on a new dimension as the major cities are now affected and populations will increasingly flee the cities in the coming days. We are prepared to support them thanks to the mobilisation of self-help groups that have spontaneously formed throughout Ukraine.

One of the main problems will be the shortage of basic necessities

To date, 850,000 people have already crossed into a neighbouring country. Our director in Ukraine says:

In the last few days I have seen tens of kilometres of traffic jams at the Polish border. People waited for days in their cars. Some decided to leave their cars and finish the journey on foot in the cold and snow. While their situation improves once they cross the border, the despair of displaced people and residents of major cities currently under shelling is of particular concern. They are mostly women, children and elderly people without resources. They need emergency assistance to meet their basic needs

ACTED Ukraine Country Director

ACTED is therefore appealing for donations to support the "Humanitarian Convoys for Ukraine!" operation

The money and goods collected will be transported to Ukraine, in the most affected areas and as close as possible to the beneficiaries, in order to provide them with tents, blankets, small heating equipment, baby and hygiene kits.

Your donations will allow us to act quickly.
