Waste to positive Energy

Jordan Social Cohesion
April 2023
September 2024

Since 2015, GIZ has collaborated with 8 municipalities to improve solid waste management across 4 governorates through Cash-for-Work (CfW). In order to ensure accountability in CfW, Acted will facilitate access for approximately 2,550 GIZ beneficiaries to a confidential Complaints & Response Mechanism. This will include a dedicated confidential phone line to receive the complaints and share them with GIZ. In addition, Acted will facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with beneficiaries who have completed CfW cycles to identify any systematic program quality and/or labour environment issues. Following the end of each rotation, Acted will organise up to 15 FGDs with up to 10 participants each, in order to gauge beneficiary feedback on their experience within the project, including working conditions and working environment. Building under its previous GIZ project (13 DYD) Acted will support 8 pre-selected community initiatives (one per location) who will receive small grants (250-300 JOD) to implement their projects.
