Mali faces a multi-dimensional crisis since 2012 that reached its peak with the armed conflicts in the North of the country. Food and nutritional insecurity, chronic poverty and climate change have contributed to the deterioration of the humanitarian situation. ACTED provides emergency assistance to the most vulnerable, while improving their resilience capacity. We celebrate humanitarian workers in Mali on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day.

Aminata holds a master’s degree in law from the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in Mali

“I have always wanted to put my knowledge at the service of vulnerable people. Through international humanitarian law, I already had a strong ambition to work in the humanitarian community, in order to meet the needs of vulnerable populations. I started working with ACTED in 2014 as a supervisor working a social cohesion and economic reovery project in the Menaka region. I particularly appreciate ACTED’s approach. I would like to get to work on a project to develop the local economy, with a territorial approach based on synergies and partnership between local actors.”

Boubacar is senior logistics officer at ACTED Mali. He joined ACTED Mali in January 2013 first as purchasing coordinator, then he spent several months as area manager in central Mali

“Humanitarian work is for me the most noble profession, which allows me to earn a decent living and save lives. Nothing is more comforting than ensuring that war-torn populations can continue to live together. In the future I would like to continue to contribute to helping the most vulnerable. I am proud to belong to the ACTED’s Mali mission, because our work is always well done.”
