STREAM aims to foster evidence-based and effective Natural Resources Management (NRM) in the Ferghana Valley. The initiative empowers local and national actors and promotes dialogue to ensure sustainable development in the context of climate change.

STREAM Initiative in Kyrgyzstan is implemented based on the following pillars:

 

Pillar I: Evidence-based planning

Targeted watershed level context, NRM and climate change analysis, stakeholder mobilisation and road map development with local actors and national governments.

 

Pillar II: Climate smart NRM practices

Provision of capacity building training, technical expertise and supports (secondment, equipment, etc.) and small grant schemes for stakeholders.

 

Pillar III: Infrastructure and dialogue

Focused investment in infrastructure rehabilitation and accompanying water accounting systems and information management approaches to facilitate regional dialogue.
